  1. In a large pot, combine everything but parmesan and milk.
  2. Bring to boil
  3. Reduce heat to low (about 4 on our stove) and simmer for 30 minutes
  4. Pour into blender, blend until smooth, return to pot. Serve with parmesan/sour cream/bacon.
